WHAT: 31st. Anniversary of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s (CBCF) Annual Legislative Conference Jazz Concert

WHO: This year’s event continues the CBCF’s tradition of presenting and honoring modern jazz masters. The evening begins promptly at 7:30pm with a Meet the Artist conversation conducted by jazz radio host Candy Shannon, featuring Nasar Abadey and Allyn Johnson of the Washington Renaissance Orchestra.

The concert performances begin @ 8:00pm celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Jazzmobile, a visionary jazz organization serving New York City, with a very special appearance by the Jazzmobile All Stars, featuring trumpeter Jimmy Owens, saxophonist Antonio Hart and drummer Winard Harper.

Plus, the evening will also observe the 90th Birthday of John William Coltrane, one of the most consequential musicians of the 20th century, with a spectacular big band performance by the Washington Renaissance Orchestra, featuring guest saxophonist Joe Ford.
